airberlin Lounge Access

airberlin, which shut down and ceased operations in 2017, was one of the largest airlines in Germany and Europe. A former member of the oneworld alliance and Etihad Airways Partners, airberlin operated the topbonus frequent flyer program. airberlin also operated their own lounges, called Exclusive Waiting Areas and airberlin Lounges, mainly in Germany, including their TXL and DUS hubs.

airberlin's Lounge Program

Before it ceased operations in 2017, airberlin operated a number of Exclusive Waiting Areas and Lounges. Most of these were located in Germany. Business class passengers, oneworld Sapphire (Topbonus Gold) members, and oneworld Emerald members (Topbonus Platinum) had access to airberlin lounges. airberlin's Exclusive Waiting Areas, meanwhile, were available to airberlin economy flex and business class passengers, along with Topbonus Silver, Gold and Platinum members, Virgin Australia's Velocity Gold and Platinum members, and Etihad Guest's Gold and Platinum members when flying with airberlin. In locations where oneworld member operated lounges were not available, airberlin's premium passengers had access to third party lounges. As a member of Etihad Airways Partners, airberlin's business class and elite topbonus passengers had additional lounge access at certain locations where other partners of this alliance offered lounge access.
