Salalah Airport's newest lounge covers an area of over 1,600 square feet and is able to accommodate up to 100 guests at any given time. Once inside, visitors may enjoy a spread of hot food, salads, sandwiches, snacks and fruit. Aside from non-stop catering, guests will enjoy two VIP rooms, showers, a designated smoking area, and a wide selection of hot and cold beverages. A free Wi-Fi connection is also available to all guests. Entrance to the lounge for two hours costs 11 OMR, which roughly translates into US$30. The brand new Plaza Premium Lounge in Phnom Penh is 4,500 square feet and seats up to 300 people, making it almost three times as big as its counterpart in Oman. Highlights include a medium-sized spa area, a wide variety of food and beverage options, three shower rooms and a private room for 10 people. This state-of-the-art lounge is located on the Mezzanine Floor of the International Departures area at Phnom Penh International Airport. Another Plaza Premium Lounge opened shortly after at Cambodia's second largest airport in Siem Reap.
Malaysia Airlines Opening Laksa Bars In KLIA Lounges
Airport lounges are an excellent opportunity for national flag carriers to introduce their respective nations' design, food and innovative products. Continuing this trend, Malaysia Airlines (MH) has opened Laksa Bars at their Golden, Regional and Domestic Lounges at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), which serves up the ubiquitous spicy noodle soup that enjoys tremendous popularity in Malaysia and other neighbouring countries. Guests can choose from four local variations of the deliciously aromatic dish: Curry laksa, laksa Johor, Penang Assam laksa and Sarawak laksa.
The main ingredients are coconut milk, laksa noodles, and curry soup base, with chicken, prawn, or some other protein added to make it more filling. MH lounges in KLIA are open to First and Business Class customers, Enrich Gold and Platinum Members, and oneworld Sapphire/Emerald Members traveling on oneworld operated flights on the same day.
Avianca Opens A New Lounge At Miami Airport
Colombian carrier Avianca recently opened its new VIP Lounge at Miami International Airport. The 5,600 square foot lounge features complimentary food and beverages, shower facilities newspapers and magazines, private workstations, and a kids' area. In addition to Avianca's Business Class passengers, the VIP Lounge is open to LifeMiles Gold and Diamond Elite Program members, Star Alliance Gold status holders and Priority Pass members.

Delta Upgrading Food Selection At Select International Sky Clubs
Delta Air Lines has joined the pursuit of ever-higher catering standards at leading airport lounges over the world. International Sky Club lounges at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy Airport are now offering a premium food selection, and even complimentary wine and liquor is available on the premises. According to Delta Sky Club managing director, Claude Roussel, the new food spread includes prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella, roasted sweet potatoes and cavatappi pasta with cheddar sauce.
